As you cant use dimmer switches on them ,cant find light fittings to take them without looking hideous, won't get one to fit your oven or extractor hood . Won't work on movement detector security lighting , dust to dawn controls or electronic timers. Not to mention the crappy light that they give off that affects the eyesight.
Where are we going to get the landfill sights that will take all the useless dimmerswitches, ovens ,extractors timers etc etc etc. Is it me or are they all barking mad. I am off to buy myself a lifelong supply of real light bulbs from B and Q before they are taken off of the shelves

I have 2 toddlers I would like to let play outside this summer. My 2 year old got stung 7 times last summer. I have heard different solutions. I was just looking for some reassurance. I've read: dryer sheets, moth balls, peeled garlic cloves, lemon juice, paper bag stuffed with newspaper, and even peeing on it! Does any of this work? Except peeing on......

I've got a leasehold on a nice one-bedroom ground floor flat in a London cul-de-sac and I'm looking for ways to push the value up. Any particular home-improvement nuggets I should be aware of? Suggestions with estimated costs especially welcome.

I live at an apartment complex that is horrible for mold, its everywhere, but I've figured out how to manage it everywhere but in the cement. My cats like to go outside, so I need to be able to safely remove it so that it does hurt them.

It's currently 48 degrees where I live.
Is it okay to leave my window open for a little bit, if I keep the door shut to my room?
I just want to get some fresh air in.
If so, how long should I leave it open for?

We have a massive problem with these bugs (similar to lightening bugs, but no light on their backsides) late spring until the first freeze. They crawl into the house via the window air conditioners (we have two in two different areas of the house). We did two bug bombs inside last year. We also bought outdoor spray and sprayed almost every other week. Nothing worked. The hotter it gets outside, the more they come inside. They drive our cat crazy and we get tired of having them land on our food, or in the cat's food, or on clean dishes, or have dead ones laying all over the floor.

Any suggestions? We've used the Home Defense outdoor spray.

This is only our 2nd year in the house. So we don't know if there was a huge problem before. It was my grandma's house and she would've told me if it was a bad problem. Should we call an actual exterminator later this spring?

We have started doing the garden up and have noticed how bad the condition of the fence is. We moved here 1 yr ago and it had lots of trees in front which we have cut down.
One of the panels has come apart , we have fixed ot temporarily so the dog doesnt get out!
It is the fence at the bottom of our garden, which has a house directly behind with the right hand side of the house as you would look at it from the front beside the fence. We dont know who is owner unless we go yo solicitors to get deeds.Anyone know if this would be ours or there fence???
