I have a counter downdraft 30" gas cooktop--can I replace it with a 36 "?

I have the electronic drop in range. I can't remember the model # off hand. But I've been very happy with it. It has the smooth flat topped burners, which had to be bought separately along with a grill insert that came with it. After thinking there was a 87 in the model number. If you have the room I see no reason why you couldn't change the cook top out.
