My girlfriend states that her mother told her years ago that putting a glass container with hot food in the refrigerator will break the glass shelves in the refrigerator. I have tried to explain to her that this is redicilous and that pyrex and glass shelves in a refrigerator will not break. The stew was not even very hot and I put the pyrex bowl on two plastic tupperwear covers. I think there is absolutely no way anything could break. Please explain to me here so she can see it that she is way off base on this. Thank you.

I have mice! My cat hasn't been pulling his weight. I thought it was just one or two under the sink, but now I am catching between 1-4 a night in the live-catch traps I set. I just figured out where they have been living - in my oven!!!! I haven't used it for a few weeks, and they moved in. I turned it on the other day, and oh god the smell! How can I get rid of these mice without having to kill them or deal with dead mouse bodies? How can I clean out my oven? What do I do?!?!?

We have radiant heat under wide-board hardwood floors.

If I dust my house, the next day it was as if I never dusted. Anything I can do to help this? I change the filters in the furnace and I just don't see why this place gets so much dust. We just rent, and let me tell you, I have "never" experienced this much dust in my life! Go away bad dust!

Once I get the rust out of my cast iron skillett I would like to season it. Unfortunantly I am of the cooking impaired and have no idea how to do this. I lost the instructions that came with it a long time ago. Any help would be appreciated.

My couch is only 7 months old but because it is in the main living space, it is used quite often. My sofa seat cushions are starting to get a bit "flat" and was wondering if there is a way to get it plump again without having to replace it. Any suggestions?
