I love the smell of NICE hotels. I have come to believe that it is the indoor pools that give them the scent. Maybe the cleaners. I'm talking about NICE hotels, not run down motels that smell like smoke and dirt. Anyone know the reason they smell the way they do? And if so is it something I can buy?

I'll be moving to a dorm, so it has to be pretty small. And I can't guarantee giving it tons of sunlight or a certain humidity.

And...is it asking too much to want one that will stay in bloom during the winter?

I'm looking for responses from actual owners only.
I want to know in comparison to conventional space heaters, do the edenpure heaters create a better, more comfortable heat? Are they worth the money?
I am not concerned with the energy savings issue, i don't care. I am concerned with 100% comfort. I will continue to use space heaters, but I want to know if this one is better, as it is different.
Thanks for your feedback.

Hi there,
We have four young kiddos and we are mostly packed and ready to go, but I am very overwhelmed by the details (no surprise there). The move is local; we are staying in the same town. However hubby and I have ONE day, kid-and-work-free on which to get the bulk of it done. What first? The big furniture then the boxes? All at once? I have to be at work the next day...argh!

Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Not temporarily, as in a trailer house, dorm, crisis shelter or FEMA trailer, I mean as a lifestyle choice. Like an eco home, a micro home, a cabin, a yurt, a planned community, a co-house, etc.

While a lot of the world is getting more complicated, there seems to be a wave of simplicity among some folks who are abandoning their ideals of a dream house, and finding smaller, or low-tech living arrangements that are working quite well for them. I would love to know more about it, just curious at this point but I am far from claustophobic, in fact, I consider myself very hobbity, and can easily see myself doing something like this someday.

What's your story? Why did you do it? How is it working for you? Would you do it again? Are you on the grid or off? How do you live this way in a modern world?

It will be hard to choose a best answer from different genuine responses.

I can't even make my bed without getting shocked. It's a box spring, but I like it and it's practically brand new. I am looking for a way to discharge the static and keep this from happening in the future.

Some axle grease rags were accidently washed with normal laundry, causing all the cloths to smell like axle grease. I've tried re-washing, but the smell in the laundry and washer remains.

We moved into a really old house about 3mo ago. Ever since we turned on the furnace we have been seeing everything from spiders and silverfish to roaches and stink bugs. I was told to buy Diatomaceous Soil since it is only toxic to crawling bugs. Is that true?

I live in the city, so trapping and bb's are not an option due to heavy sidewalk traffic. They are in my wall and are way to high to reach from outside. They have chewed through the wall and my cats are in a standoff with them. I can not afford to call in a pest controll expert. How can I drive them away without causing any discomfort to me or my pets.

I am new to central IN. I've been aware of this vole in my house for about a month and during that time we have lived peacably along side one another. Just now, I was sitting on the floor and all of a sudden I realize that my "buddy" is right against my hip. I like animals but I am freaked out. It acts as though it can not see but would it not smell me?

I will be getting some live traps to catch the mouse and then release it. It can live in the garage if it wants. For tonight, however, how do I stop this unwanted behavior? Do these guys climb at all?Any advice on what bait to use in the traps? Any particular "set up" that might keep this guy content in the garage? A little hay for nesting?

I think the speed is limited by the speed the bulbs warm up, they are those slim halogen types.
