I would like to find out what kind of light bulbs would be good for growing plants indoors. I have a sego palm and some other type of small tree that I keep inside my apartment in Kuwait. I don't have a balcony or patio to put the plants outside.

We all know of solar panels, low power lightbulbs, good insulation, etc. Are there any new or unconventional ways of saving on electricity costs?

I have little black bugs that are continually harrassing my plants. They really like water sources ending up in my coffee, contact lenses and anywhere there is food. I was told they might be fungus gnats and to tape yellow post-its on pencils and put them in my plants. Is this true? If not, how do I erradicate them? I don't want to use pesticides.

I love my electric blanket because it's the only thing that keeps me warm in the winter time, but lately it hasn't been warming at all and the temperature controller devices just keep blinking on and off. Does anyone know what causes this or how to fix it? Should I just trash it and get a new one?

We recently found out our basement has high levels of radon. We know what we can do to help, but I have some questions. Also, the measurement they use to measure the amount of radon, we have 50 something. How long do you need to be exposed to it for it to harm you at that rate? If it affected me, will the affects show now, or later when I'm older?

my 4 year old turned off our fridge before we left the house 5 days ago. the fridge is clean and disinfected now, but there is still a foul smell lingering. i have tried baking soda, lysol/lysol wipes, soap and even carpet freshener. it has drastically improved but there is still that hint of death.

I have an old World Book set that my mom bought when I was a kid in 1980. The set is still nice other than the fact that it's old and out dated. I have no need for it at this point but I just can't see myself putting the set in the trash. Does anyone else have any viable alternatives?

Yeah, I know it sounds crazy. I read this article saying that LSD could be synthesised using egg whites, cherries, baking soda, sugar, and red wine. I doubt this is true, but i was just wondering.
