Our blower on our ac/heat is extremely loud. We recently discovered our coils were very badly covered due to neglect from our apt complex. The covered coils was noticed when someone was replacing our furnace due to a cracked heat exchange. looking for any advice.

also.. the coils are now cleaned, but i'm not sure if they looked at the blower or not. Should I demand someone look at my blower too? My apt complex has already cost me way to much more $$ in electric.

Hooked up to the main water line at our house ~ it is broken and needs to be replaced ~ repairman are from $300-$700. My husband wants to go to Home Depot, get the part and replace himself. How hard would that be? I am thinking that it must be problematic because the cost for repairman is so high..... Any thoughts or comments will be MUCH appreciated.

I have two separate light switches that control two separate lights in my kitchen. These lights are from the same feed. The problem I'm having is that the one light will only turn on when the other light is turned on? I'm pretty sure I've connected everything properly so I'm stumped. Can anyone help me out?

We have a large basement that smells like sewage or rotten eggs in the morning. I am afraid that it is a health hazard. All the plumbers the landlord talks to have no idea how to fix it.
Should we talk to an engineer?

I have a cub cadet 1042 riding lawnmower and I can't get it to start. It will turn over when I Turn the key but it just wont start. I've been using a battery charger to help it turn over. I replaced the fuel filter, air filter, gas and spark plug. It still wont fire up. Is there a fuse or something inline to the spark plug that could be causing this? Any suggestions? Thanks

I live in Oregon, and winter is coming. I have natural gas heat and a limited budget. What "insulation" should I check first to lower my heating bill ? the ceiling ? and what what should I invest my little money in to insulate in the best way possible so I don't have to turn that furnace on much. ?? Should I put most of my money in insulating the ceiling or the windows or ???? I cannot have a home evaluation, I have checked into that with both the elec. and the gas and they both say the other one should do it :(

I bought new bulbs for my 2 kitchen lights thinking my bulbs were burned out but they're still not working right. I have a round fluorescent light fixture as well as a fixture that contains 6 very long lights. I turn the switch on & it turns on but very very faintly like it's not getting enough power or something. Is this something I can fix myself or should I call an electrician? I don't have too much experience with this stuff but do have a little bit of general knowledge. Any ideas anyone?

I just changed the bulb maybe a week ago. I always have it on during the night time so it's not on all the time. I was holding my son at the time i turned it on and really scared me. i'm glad it didn't cut either of us. It's in alot of pieces all over! I've had the nightlight for a couple years now and it never made any bulbs explode before.

I'm supposed to open a little screw right above where you turn off the water for the sprinkler system and let that drain. It never seems to stop draining. Water keeps coming and coming so something is wrong. I just don't want my pipes to freeze or burst due to this little screw that I'm supposed to unscrew to let water out.

And when you pull out the choke to start, then after you get it started, do you leave the choke out, adjust it down a little or push it in all the way? I think totally down it goes off, is that right? I just bought a used one.
