I was wondering about hot water heater codes for bathrooms... we have one in our bathroom which has been there forever and were being told that it has to be moved. So we were just wondering what the codes stated.

Laws? Do you mean codes? Contact your local county health or building department. If you are questioning how a water heater was installed or the venting of it, they can come inspect it and tell you if it is "legally" installed, whether the installer pulled a permit (required some places but not all), etc.

the only time you should ever turn off the water grant to the water heater is that in case you should swap the water heater or you have a significant leak. depart it on till considered one of two issues occurs: a million) a leak is got here upon, 2) the sound stops. you may (in all probability do) have a great number of trapped air in the strains and the water heater. As water flows in at approximately 60 psi, it is going to proceed to bypass till the trapped air reaches 60 psi. yet another excuse is that some water warmers will make noise that sounds like working water even nonetheless that's reality the heating element heating the water. Mine does this. you additionally can hear it once you boil water on a range. because it gets warmer, it starts off to "sizzle". yet that does no longer be concerning to working the valve.

Installing a water heater is covered by the local Plumbing Codes. These vary by area and some have none. We may have been able to answer most questions if you had stated what it was you were wondering about.
