I do electrical warranty work for a builder in AZ. I got a call to a home that is having lots of static on their AM radios when any electrical appliance is turned on. It doesn't matter if the radio is plugged in or running off batteries (not connected to the AC). I tried several different radios as well, with the same results.

I understand that ANY electrical device emits certain levels of EMI that may cause static, but even when a small appliance is used on the other side of the house (3500 sq. ft.) - the static is so bad you can't hear anything else over the radio.

I took their radios to the house next door (exact same house, same appliances, same everything) and there is no static at all. Even with the same portable appliances that are giving trouble in the first home.

What would the difference be?

I checked all grounding in the panel (though that's usually more associated with a "hum" not static) and everything looked good.

I would appreciate any thoughts.

I checked in the attic for a stopped up drip pan but there isn't one. I see 2 pipes coming out. One is the overflow going to the outside of the house and the other goes down to the guest bathroom sink. I took it apart under the sink and it doesn't seem to be clogged. Is something else wrong?

Last winter i bought a bag of rock salt for my driveway/walk, and it sat there in my basement and its created some sort of artesian spring in my basement. I tried using a dehumidifier, but i have had it running for about a week now and the water still keeps on trickling out of my floor. Anyone have any ideas of how i can stop it!? Heeeelp! Thanks!

He ran it about 10 times with only gas in it and now it won't start. I added the oil and cleaned the spark plug. The only other solutions I can think of are the oil isn't getting a chance to get in there without starting or there is a high amount of carbon build up in the exhaust. Please help?

I Have tried the manual moister removal boxes which have collected quite a lot of water over the last two weeks. Any ideas anyone before I have to splash(no pun intended) out on an expert.
