what do i do if something falls into sewer?

my phone fell into the sewer system by my house

Sorry, mate, its gone. Short of some haphazard scheme involving chewing gum and a coat hanger, you just need a new phone.
Possibly, if you live in a small town and can actually see the phone in the sewer (i.e. its dry or near) you can call the local dept. of public works and they *might* be able to get it for you or offer advice.

If its a cell phone call your provider order a new phone. If its a house phone buy another. Either way your going to need a new phone.

i would say i think your phone is gone because a waterbottel leaked in my bag once just aliitle and my phone died and i had to get a new one so i think your phone is probabaly useless

and i wouldnt waiste the time of the sewer people

get a new phone or call ur cell phone company and see if you have insurance on the phone? that way you wouldnt have to pay too much for another. you can try calling waste mangement but i highly doubt they will come out for a phone ....plus its probably already floated away.

if you can see the phone try to fish it out with a hook or a pole or something if not ur SOL

Pull the sewer lid off and go get it.

You'd have to call the city waste management service. If you look in your phone book, there should be numbers you can call for various city services, but it's probably a lost cause.

Start looking at new phones. Even if it were to be retrieved, it probably won't work.
