I just moved into a new place and when you are running the water and pull up the shower thing half the flow remains at the bath faucet and the rest goes to the shower. The pressure is low, and I imagine that is due to half the water running out of the faucet still. What can I do?

The service line was made out of plastic and it was bumped from the inside which I believe cracked it outside the foundation. I still have good pressure, however the city came out and we determined that there is a leak just outside the foundation and my backyard resembles the everglades. I can think of 3 fixes
1. Excavate the whole front yard and rerun a line
2. Pull a line through the existing line
3. bust out the foundation wall and repair from the inside.
estimates of cost and best practices would be appreciated.

putting diesel fuel in the spark plug hole for a couple of days drying it out and pulling the rope slowing...I think diesel fuel is just about the same as the gasoline with oil mix that you put in the fuel hole...so I used that...If I dry it out good will that work ok?

I just got a brand new Kenmore Washer from sears, Sears item #02627632000 Mfr. model #27632. Our townhome has the laundry room on the second floor. I called sears and they sent someone out within a few days to checkit out at no cost. The technician said that there was no problem and theat it would shake like that during spin because it was on the second floor. I wasn't happy with that answer since it was so obvious something was not right with the washer. I called sears back and they said i could return it and exchange it forthe same one or take a credit and apply it to a new one. I hope someone can help me out with this one. Should i get the same one? Perhaps the one i got was defective? Or should i get a different one? My budget is tight. Also, will any washer i get shake on the second floor. I can't put the laundry room anywhere else.

So far I have changed the starter, battery, solenoid and positive cables.I get 12.5 volts to one side of the solenoid but when I turn the key 8.5 volts comes out the other side which isn't enough power to crank the motor over. I have also disabled the brake clutch switch because I have had problems with it before. Is this a ignition switch problem? Agway lawn tractor 42'' cut, 7 speed trans.

I found that there was a steady stream of ants (I live in India, and it's summer) flowing into my fridge, water cooler, keyboard, scanner, ups, and god knows what else and I can't understand why ! I have a feeling it's to do with the electricity itself, certain events have convinced me of that fact, but I would really like to know what's going on.

I am trying to re-wire a old murray rear engine riding mower.
It has a 8hp engine with a 32" deck and has a magneto. I got it real cheap and it will run but someone has been fooling around with the wiring
and I would like to put in a new ignition switch and install a new solenoid. I don't feel comfortable with all the electrical tape and spliced wires.

Hi - I'm wrinklefree's husband. Let me add some details and bring the Q up to date:
There is actually a very difficult junction just past the cleanout, but the plumber was told about it before starting. Twice while he was rodding my wife came in and said that it sounded like he was coming up in the toilet. The third time she told us that it was broken.

The toilet itself was 50 years old, and was 5 gallon flush. It had actully saved us on a few occasions by pushing stuff through the tree roots by pure volume. EPA regulations say we CANNOT replace it with something equivalent, but must go to a low-volume flush toilet, which will present more problems in the future, not less. The solution to the root issues will cost many thousands of dollars, which we cannot afford at this time.

The plumber came back and replaced the toilet with a new/cheap one that is smaller and does not fit well into the space. It sits 2.5" away from the wall.

We have not yet paid - now what should we do?

If I put fuel directly into the fuel filter the engine will start and run but when that fuel is gone the engine shuts down. I checked the fuel line it is clear and fuel runs through it fine.

I have had this microwave for about 7 years. It is a good machine, still runs perfectly. But recently the lightbulb went out. I would like to replace it, the lightbulb, not the microwave. Does anyone know where I could get a lightbulb for a panasonic microwave and how would you do that

I woke up an had an ice cold shower this morning, because my water heater's circuit breaker had tripped and cut the power. Thinking back, my hot water was only warm on Monday morning, and we had a big lightning storm on Friday that was messing the electricity. Could it really have taken 3 1/2 days for the water to drop to room temperature?
The heater holds 52 gallons, and of average efficiency/insulation for a 5-year-old heater. How long would one expect in order to lose all the stored heat for that size of tank?

We're buying a house that has a standard gas furnace. It's older (70's) and will probably need to be replaced in the next few years. The house doesn't have central AC, but we would love to have it. When it comes time to replace the current furnace, can we easily replace it with a unit that is both a furnace and central AC unit?
