I suspect that there are brackets behind the bath panel fixed to the bath framework. Is this normal? How do I manoeuvre the panel out? Any suggestions welcomed urgently as I have a leak from under the bath !

No numbers, no lights. The breakers in the electrical box are fine, the power in the house is okay. The AC/heater doesn't turn on.

My window frame outside my house has had masking tape around it for about 6 months. (had a massive fire ant problem, whole 'nother story!) I tried to remove it but it is REALLY stuck on there. And the actual paper is leaving the glue on the surface of the window frame. Any ideas?

I have a fairly new Frigidaire refrigerator / freezer combo (about 6 years old). Since this summer, the referigator has been going into over drive and often times freezing stuff. I suspect it might've started after we lost power for about 6-9 hours after a storm.

The referigator's and freezer's temperatures are set to the minimum, yet the non-freezer part consistently ruins / freezes stuff. Otherwise the refigerator / freezer has no other oddities.

Is this a job for a repairman or is there an adjustment I can make on my own? I am a complete n00b when it comes to appliance repairs.

Thanks

the weather has been below freezing for 2 weeks. The main city sewer line is 20 ft. from my house. Whenever I walk into my laundry room, I smell sewer fumes coming from wash drain. Never had this problem before. Is it the cold weather, plus the closeness of the city sewer to my house? Is something frozen somewhere?

The seal is old and comes out at the front door. So, it leaks. I want to know what I may use until I can afford to fix it, to do the same job? Tin foil pushed into the slot at the door?

It is a master bath with a garden tub, floor and part of the wall covered in 4" nonglossy white tile, presumably porcelein. It is 10 years old so some of it is cracked or crazed and in some places the grout and caulk have failed. We are trying to decided whether to have it repaired by replacing only broken tiles and having failed grout and caulk professionally fixed followed by professional steam cleaning or whether we should have brand new and more up to date tile installed. I want the former because this bath with continue to match the other baths in the house and I think a good result can be accomplished and with a nice new shade of paint on the dry wall (I'm thinking Behr Baked Scone) it can look great. Our neighborhood is established and in high demand and many of our neighbor's homes have the same tile. What do you think?

My Plumber has just done a job for me. This was dis-connecting a radiator in the bathroom and replacing it with plastic Pipe Connectors (No soldering). The original pipework is the gravity feed pipes which supply the how water from the boiler which is downstairs. The advantage of this is to keep the towels dry when the central heating is switched off.
However, these pipe connectors are chunky and I have reservations about their reliabilty being "push-on" and not soldered on. I therefore went into Wickes Store and bought one of this type of connector to try and understand how it worked.

On the packet instructions it states inter alia that they are not suitable for gas, oil, compressed air or connection to back boilers and "gravity circulating heating pipes".
So could someone out there who is knowledgeable in this field explain to me 'why not' and again will I have water seepage/leaking in the time ahead at some point ???
