You really don't want to do that unless the lamp that you have is threaded or manufactured for the light fixture.

Xenon requires a ballast that is basically a power supply to up the voltage - much like a flourescent, but much more power.

xenon is brighter than you want a light to be, probably ranging from about 5000 degrees Kelvin to 6000 degrees kelvin. Incandescent lighting is 3200 degrees K.

Assuming you're putting this bulb in the right kind of fixture, I would take care and make sure that you don't get ANY dirt or oil on the bulb ( that means you should wear some lightweight gloves whenever you touch the bulb)
As with any high intensity light source, the tiniest amount of dirt or oil on the bulb could damage the bulb (by creating a hot spot on the glass) while it is in use and eventually lead to an early burn out!
