I do not understand why range cables don't have a white wire. Isn't that dangerous? I've seen the same installation on baseboard heaters. Why don't these 220v devices take a white wire?

I know the basics of electronics and want to teach myself how to build some very basic circuits only as a home hobby.
Where can I find some free basic circuit schematics? Do any websites offer this?
Where is a good place to find a breadboard that I can build a circuit on and reuse over and over?
Thanks for your help!

I called a local upholsterer about my leather suite, as it needed restoring. I was told before I began spending money, to experiment myself with 'shoe polish', which has had a very traumatic effect on the leather. A restorer came to restore it, and spent nearly 5 hours working on it, however the wax from the shoe polish has been absorbed too far into the leather, that all the new colour that the restorer put on is begining to peel off. Now he is going to haave to come again and carry out some tests on the leather, and maybe even steam clean it to melt the wax off that has come from the shoe polish, what can I do?

My towel holder came off the drywall leaving two holes in the wall. (where the anchors/screws used to be) I need to fix the towel holder exactly in the same place as before. Can I fix the dry wall holes and then put anchors and screws into them? Thanks.

I'm attempting to help my friend plant a flower garden. She wants all bulbs planted this spring in front of her house. She gets morning sun on that area, but around noon it gets shady. I need to know everything! What do I need to do to prepare the earth for planting? They are crocus', tulips and daffodils. Any and all help would be greatly appriciated.

When I walk in the office I smell a peculiar smell. I own my own office so there's no landlord to take care of it for me.

Is there an inexpensive way I could test to see if mold is the issue here?

Hi,

I'm trying to replace a normal light switch with a dimmer switch.

One of the the screws holding the switch in place will not unscrew. It comes out a few milimetres but then just spins.

From what I can see (by removing the other screw and looking behind the switch), the screw is spinning in the hole it is held in (its like a bracket with a hole - don't know the technical name for this).

Any ideas on how to remove this screw?

Thanks
