But if I turn fuse switch up to on it blows the whole fuse box out

Is it the wiring?

I think you have a dead short in the cooker socket or wiring to and from. You need to have it checked out. Open up the socket and check it out. Ensure that the power is switched off! Make sure the wires are not touching one another and the terminals are tight then retest.

A cooker should be on it's own circuit to the mainboard. Plugging it into a bog standard ring main will trip the fuse. Get an electrician round cos it sounds like the cooker is larger in ampage than the fuse on the mainboard so it will need to be changed.

Sorry, but your question doen't make much sense to me, 'works ok', 'blows the box out', 'nothing connected' !!!!???? . A cooker should not be wired to a ring circuit. Leave it alone and get an electrician in to look at it.

get an electrician to look at it, i had wires touching and didn't realise it... it fused the whole house and kept doing it... i could have burnt my house down and lost my children's ( and my) lives if i hadn't called out some one who new what they were doing, the cooker wasn't wired up properly, i had a cowboy putting it in in the first place... it's all sorted now... thank the gods...

Yes sounds like you have a short in the switch or main feed. Best bet get an electrician out to sort it.
