The seal is old and comes out at the front door. So, it leaks. I want to know what I may use until I can afford to fix it, to do the same job? Tin foil pushed into the slot at the door?

Do it properly and replace the rubber seal. Until it's fixed, do your dishes by hand.

Don't use caulking material. it's caused a rare form of liver cancer for people who have used it to seal their leaky dishwashers.

Price the door seal. It's not as expensive as you may think.
