Assuming this is a serious question then: it depends on the type of wall you have i.e solid brick or plasterboard. Obviously, brick is more substantial but requires the correct size of screw/nail and you may have to drill if hanging a mirror. Plasterboard requires more thought, as it is so thin you could shoot peas through it! Best to go to your local B&Q - explain what you want to hang and what type of walls you have - they will advise the exact type of fixing is appropriate . Never hang a heavy mirror on a plasterboard wall - unless you want the proverbial 7 years bad luck!!

I always use the traditional nails because everything else doesn't seem to be good enough for heavy stuff. If you don't wanna see any damage after you take the picture off, buy a white wall filling in small bag (or however you call it) and just cover the hole.It takes a minute, last for ages and cost less than £2. Plus you can use it to many other corrections in your house.

use proper picture hooks,double nail type for heavy pictures.
use small hammer and do not bang too hard.

Use 3M hooks.No damage at all.Available at hardware stores.
