My window frame outside my house has had masking tape around it for about 6 months. (had a massive fire ant problem, whole 'nother story!) I tried to remove it but it is REALLY stuck on there. And the actual paper is leaving the glue on the surface of the window frame. Any ideas?

pull off the paper part and then use a glass cleaner to loosen the adhesive. Then scrape with a straight edge razor blade or a paint scraper blade.

You could also try goo-gone, available at many stores. It takes off almost all adhesives.

You can remove the tape when you're done painting. You only put the tape there in the first place to avoid getting the paint on other places not intended. So, once you're done painting, you no longer need the tape there.
