I heard if you rub a candle on it- the wax keeps it moving and doesn't let it freeze.

Your patio door is probably sticking because of water freezing under it and causing the bottom track to push upward. If the water is trapped below the track you may have to remove the entire dorr frame and all, dry it out,[replace any soaked lumber] reinstall and caulk with a good silicone caulk Sorry,but water expands when it freezes so you have to get rid of the water.

By following the owners manual. Usually opening and closing a door is done by turning the door knob. But if you have a sliding door then you simply slide it back and forth to the open and closed possitions.

enclosing the area out side of the patio doors to make it a three seasons area, that should easy up on the weather control of it

Is it wood? What kind of material is it made of? Sounds like wood....well, you may have to take em down and plane it a little to stop the swelling from gettin it stuck.

WD 40 will work on helping open something stuck.
