It has been 1.5 years since I bought, and the termite guy said they have been there at least 3-7 years.

I am replacing my ancient garage door opener. I have a solid wood double door. I have read screw drives are good for heavy lifitng, belt drives are quiet and chain drives are dependable. Is this true? What would you buy if you were purchasing a new one?

Thanks

It doesn't leak when the water is turned off. It only leaks (quite a lot) when the middle knob is set so that the water will come out of the shower head.

i live in a 3 family house , i rent the first floor , the 2nd floor is empty , so what happened is that they didn't have heat or gas or anything , it was very cold and the heat pipe broke and i had a flood in my apartment. i lost my daughter's bed and i had to buy one. i thought that the landlord was supposed to make a deduction or something for the damages , but i am paying the whole month of rent..so i would like to know , if it was not my fault , are they supposed to cover the damage or not ..how does that work ?

I have a continuous flash indicating "low flame / gas valve relay sensor"
I have changed the heat limit sensor / flame sensor/ circuit board. I have tested the pressure switch (it appears to be normal)
Stat calls for heat...the exhaust fan starts up, then the ignitor coil fires up, then the gas flows (with a slight high pitched whislte like sound), burners fire normal...flame is balanced and ful, drum fan kicks in. After a couple of minutes the gas shuts down. The drum fan continues and after a minute or two the gas fires back up again. Then it shuts down again and then the furnace turns off. Immediately it starts back up again. All this while the room temp is still 3-4 degrees below what the stat is calling for. Thanks for any help.
Mark

Who do you get for advice whether to demolish or renovate. The down side is the house probably needs the foundations 'pinned'. The house was built in the 60's and is double brick with quite a few cracks.

I have a combi boiler so usually we have hot water whenever we want it. Recently the radiators haven't been heating up very much and the water goes hot for a few seconds then freezing for a while then hot for a few seconds etc etc. Has anyone ANY idea what this could be?

Were getting ready to buy a new home, and while we do have money to spend on fix ups, I don't really want to spend it all on fix ups. I was wondering about how much does it cost to put in Hard Wood Floors in a average room, say 15' x 15'. If we do it ourselves? And about how long does it take?

We know some wall ties have gone but have had major movement going on. Cracks have appeared around windows and up walls. Driveway is sinking and cracking very badly and I have now been advised to have my drains looked at. Could they have caused all this damage and where would I stand with my building insurance if it is proven that this is the cause of all our problems. So far we have been quoted around the 25,000 mark to put right all the damage so we are not talking just a little bit of work.

The worst is taken care of but it left a stiff residue that is brown compared to the rest of the area of the carpet. I don't have a remanent to cut it out and replace that piece either.
Any suggestions would be welcome...thanks! :)

I was cleaning the dashboard of my car with Armor-all vinyl, rubber, plastic, etc. protectant, when I spotted my Oakley Half-Jackets in the glove box. I removed the lenses and proceeded to apply & rub some of the armor-all solution on the frames and rubber pieces.

Will this help keep the frames and rubber pieces from premature wear & tear?

Please use the rate of 9.8 cents/Kw-hour.

If you have any other ways to compare these two bulbs in terms of money, please do share.
