it could be a lot of things,
It could be dirty clogged filters, bad insulation in the house, or one or more elements not working. it could also be an inaccurate thermostat. It's unlikely but possible that the unit is too small and has exceeded its balance point, which means that the house is losing heat faster than the furnace can make it. I spent 32 years doing this sort of thing so if you need to talk about iut feel free to email me

If you're not familiar with central heating and cooling units then definitely get an hvac person to look at it. Many different possibilities ranging from a bad thermostat to an undersized furnace. Has this all of a sudden just happened? Does any heat come out of your vents? Give the repair man as much info as possible.

the means surge might have led to between the relays to get caught. The contacts might have arced together. hard to tell what's up without observing it. whilst the compressor is working in 'chilly' mode, the outdoors fan could be blowing warm air. because of the fact that's no longer then it quite is the reason the air interior is lukewarm. in case you recognize what you're doing, turn off the gadget on the thermostat, then bypass outdoors and turn it off on the close by disconnect. Now open up the outdoors unit the place the electrical powered controls. Then take the take care of of a screw motive force and gently faucet on the relays. This now and lower back helps them get unstuck. Now close all of it lower back up. turn the outdoors disconnect lower back on then bypass interior and attempt working the AC lower back. If this hasn't helped, then you quite will could have the AC dude come back out and verify it out.

If the unit is not blowing hot air as it is supposed to, TURN IT OFF.If you try to continue to use defective/broken equipment you may cause a fire. Contact Either your heating/cooling company or your local utility company in case of emergency service needs. Sounds like your in my neighborhood friend, its a wind chill of like -15. If the blower is producing hot air, it couuld be that its just to cold for the unit to keep up.Good luck and gods speed

you may just have to winterize you place. Sounds like you are getting drafts and they need to be sealed. Check your windows, you may also have a gap under your entrance door that is letting in cold air, try a throw rug up against it or better yet get weather stripping for your door.
