Were getting ready to buy a new home, and while we do have money to spend on fix ups, I don't really want to spend it all on fix ups. I was wondering about how much does it cost to put in Hard Wood Floors in a average room, say 15' x 15'. If we do it ourselves? And about how long does it take?

No it's new to US, were looking for a already built home, we don't have time to have one built for us.

What were looking at is only about 2 years old, so there wont be meny real repairs to do anyways.

If you do it yourself you can do it from $500 up to $3000 depending on the type of wood you use. You can get it done in 2 weeks, including staining and coating. Lowes hardware is great you could call them with your measurements and they could give the cost of materials.

The price of hardwoods varies tremendously depending on the type of hardwoods you're looking for. You could put laminate wood floors in, they're cheaper than hardwood but most are about half the cost. It will probably take a weekend to finish a 15x15 room, since it's your first time.

Alot of work, and money.
Keep saving for something not so needy in repairs.
