I reccomend " Rockite " patch mix, it is availiable in most hardware stores. it's a powder, when mixed with water, it is the consistancy of pancake batter. it is poured into the crack or hole, and expands as it sets up. It is very effective, can be used to secure anchor bolts, etc. I have used it for many years in my trade.

I would go with self-levelling concrete coloured caulking... comes in a big caulking-gun-type tube, kinda runny (not like silicone or dap or exterior caulking consistency... just run it into the crack and let it skin over... if it doesn't fill the crack, go over it again until it does (multiple applications). It will flow into the crack and run along it as well, part of the "self levelling" affect. Good for exterior use in sidewalk cracks too.

Don"t bother. If it is a new crack it will probably continue to widen over time.

To fill a narrow crack effectively you must widen the crack and that does not make sense. If you must - fill the crack with mortar mix available in bags from your hardware store.
