THE BLEED VALVE SHOULD WORK AUTOMATICALLY TO REMOVE THE AIR CAUSING THAT NOISE. IF IT GOES BAD/STICKS DUE TO CORROSION BUILDING UP INSIDE OF THE VALVE, IT SHOULD BE REPLACED.

The knocking is caused by air in the system. The radiator highest in elevation from your boiler will have a bleed valve to allow you, or a plumber if you are not comfortable doing the work, to allow the air to escape.

Aiir has entered your system and until it is purged it will cause this horribly irritating sound. It isn't causing any harm other than your sleeping and peace of mind.
Purging the system is the only way to stop this tormenting problem. There are simple solutions, but if you aren't handy, a plumber can solve this maddening occurrence.
Once the problem is solved, you can once again be the master of your domain, and sleep easy.
