I am trying to replace a leaky valve stem in my shower fixtures. It is a two handle shower. I am trying to loosen the stem by turning it in the ON position but I can't get it to move past a certain point. Does that mean I am weak or that I not supposed to pull it past that point. Thanks,

My first attempt at using a 66 block was a complete failure. I used an impact punchdown tool with a cutting tip. The clips do not seem to hold the punchdown wires very well. Did I just get a cheap block? The gap that is intended to hold the wire seems to have spread after punching it down. Are you supposed to be able to reuse these connections? Are they only good for one punch?

I've heard with a good finish you can prevent dents. Is there a particular finish that can help more than others?

I am trying to take apart a plastic pump housing on an electric motor. I was able to remove all but one phillips head screw. the screw was rusted and stripped when I tried to remove it. I have tried to tap it with no luck and remove it with an easy-out drill bit which just stripped it further. I need to salvage the plastic housing so I can not damage it removing the last screw. Note: the srew it going onto a metal female recepter thats glued into the platic housing. Any Thoughts would be appreciated THANK YOU

I have 1/2 HP screw drive garage door opener. I like this model because it has a SAFE-T beam feature that stops the door if a child is under the door while the opener is closing down.

Now, the problem is that when I use the control by the wall, I can close it but when I use the remote control, I had to press it so many times before the door closes, if at all. 95% of the time, the door just starts to close and then springs back up, even if there is no object obstructing the laser beam at the bottom. I have cleaned the glass of the "eye", replaced the battery for the control with a new, fresh one, replaced the coil springs and still no luck. I am resigned to getting out of my truck each time and use the wall control and lower the door to a point where I can I can slip right thru and use the remote to close the door completely. In short, I have to use both the wall control and remote control to open and close my garage door.

Any suggestions? Help!
