If there are pipes under or in the slab, are you on a slab? Did it start when it rained?

If it is a pipe and you are on a slab, there is no guarantee that where the water is coming in is the point where the pipe is leaking. There are companies that can find the source of the leak with specialized tracers, and then you can figure out what it will take to repair it. If they are galvanized, they may be completely shot. Can you run a whole new system above grade?

I dont know where the 100 dollar fix idea come from but it's way too low........to fix a leak in the slab usually runs anywhere from 700 to 2500 depending on where in the home it is and what kind of pipe it is and how much concrete has to be busted up and how many feet of pipe has to be replaced.....if tunneling under the slab is required the price of course will go up.....get the idea? It's not going to be cheap....sorry I did a slab leak the other day for 1600 and a couple years ago had one that ended up being 5000.....rare but it happens!! good luck and hope I didn't scare the sh@# out of you

There are people that have an instrument, some plumbers do, that can actually find the leak under the floor to within an inch and drill a hole, repair the leak and you'd never know it. They were charging around 125.00 dollars about twelve years ago.

if your water supply drains faster than it should, it might be a busted pipe underneath your slab.

cost varies. you may need a repiping of your entire underground pipe due to deterioration with time. small or big job, call a plumber.
