i have a repair shop and was just wondering if i burn firewood in the shop, will it cause me any harm such as some sort of cancer and the like.

Any flame creates carbon monoxide.
If the fireplace or heater is vented with no leaks there shouldn't be much of a problem. Burning as in a firepit you need a draft to keep fresh air cerculating and you will have to deal with the smoke , ashes and suit.

aside from making the shop smoky and causing you cancer if you inhale it it will ruin your firewood and turn it to ashes. get a woodstove or someway to vent the smoke out. wood smoke is just like cigarette second hand smoke. too much will kill you

There is a certasin hazard to smoke period. But burning treated wood or chemically emitting wood can release harmfull toxins, yes.

NO WAY!!!!! Just don't burn pressure treated wood. Burning wood is a natural thing, unless you are alergic, have asmah.(SP),or burn moldy wood. Don't worry, I have burned wood for years and it's OK! Injoy! :) Arum
