It doesn't rinse the dishes. They're clean, but they always have a soap residue. We have tried different types of soaps, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

My carbon monoxide detector chirps once every min or so, the light will flash red once in awhile which means battery power is getting to it. Will it still detect carbon monoxide until my husband gets home tonight to replace the pack that goes in it, or should i be concerned?

i have a combi boiler VCW T3W. the pressure keeps going down. i identified where the leak is. it is in the differential pressure valve inside the boiler (or the flow switch/valve). so that i know what to expect - do you have to replace the whole thing or can it be fixed. the pressure keeps going down and needs filling and the hot water doesnt always work.

I've completely turned off the hot water valve, and even disconnected the hose entirely. Regardless of which intake valve I attach the cold water hose to, and which water temperature setting I use, the washing machine still fills up with hot water. Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

I recently bought a Lawn Man mower with a Tecumseh 6.5 HP OV195EP engine in it. Of course I misplaced the owner's manual and now it's time to winterize it and I don't know what to do. Can somebody look up how to do it on their website and let me know? I tried with both Firefox and IE, but my internet connection is so slow that Acrobat froze it right up. Man I love PDFs........

I need to add a few more breakers to the box, however, there is a bar that goes down the middle of the box that when I put in a replacement breaker, it won't fit because the bar prevents it from going in. I looked at the breakers currently in there and they have a notch in them. I can't seem to find any resources about this kind. Can someone enlighten me?

My hot water tank is currently heated by solar panels boosted from autumn to early spring by a woodburning stove which also heats the radiators. The problem is that outside of summer there is no hot water unless the stove is lit - and to keep the stove going you need to be home to keep adding logs. I would like to have an immersion heater to use as a back-up system so that hot water is quickly available in winter (within however long the immersion may take to heat the tank) without having to light the stove.
My tank does not have an immersion fitted - is it possible to add one now or would I need a new tank?
Any other suggestions for a hot water supply which isn't dependent on being at home all the time shovelling logs into the stove but doesn't involve a whole new heating system (mains gas is not available) would be very welcome .

Do most household insurance policies for landlords cover problems with damp caused by leaking guttering/flashing around chimney stacks? Is this something I can get the insurance company involved in?

I live on a terrace of four houses, at some point in the life of my house someone has replaced the front guttering and seperated it from the houses eitherside with stop ends. there are sufficient down pipes at the appropriate places for each houses run off. My neighbour is trying to tell me that the set up is wrong and that we should have joined guttering so that water flows from his house across ours also.

He said he will try and get a court order to do so - can he do this?

I removed all of the screws from both the doorknob and the latch, however I still couldn't remove it. There are a couple of depressions on the neck of the doorknob on the interior side of the door and one on the neck of the doorknob on the exeterior side, however there are no screws on the neck. What is the trick to removin the mech? If it makes a difference the latch plate has the name weiser stamped on it.
