I recently had about $3000 in craftsman tools stolen and my insurance will not cover them. I've been looking around for a cheaper alternative but I still want a quality tool. I've come across these "Pittsburg" tools at Harbor Freight Tools and although I realize they aren't craftsman quality, for the price of them I thought they might suffice until I can afford to rebuild my collection with good tools. Has anybody had any good or bad experiences with this brand? Can anybody suggest a brand for me to look into? Thanks a lot, any help is greatly appreciated.

My husband and I are looking to get our house treated for termites and sign up for a protection plan. I am wondering how much 'the going rate' is for such a service.
The two options seem to be termidor and sentricon. We are leaning towards the latter. We've been quoted an initial startup fee of $775 with annual charges of $275 for each additional year. I'm wondering if this sounds reasonable? (if any repair or retreatment would be necessary during our contract, they would do this at no cost to us, so it's a $0 deductible)

We are in the Atlanta, GA metro area, if that has any relevance.
Any insight would be appreciated!!

My whole-house humidifier gets its water from a saddle clamp-mounted self-piercing needle valve installed on a copper water pipe. My previous humidifier did, too, but when the plumbers installed the new one, they said they couldn't get any water from the original one, so they put in a new one. No big deal - the old one had been there for 12 - 15 years. Now, after just two (2) years, the new needle valve seems to be clogged. I have screwed it all the way out, all the way in, and everywhere in-between. Is this normal? Any tricks to unclog it?
Thanks

The tub/shower hasn't been used for a few years in this home I inherited. The well water is hard and I think that's the problem. The faucet is one of those single handle type you pull/push to turn on/off. Won't budge. Tried penetrating oil and CLR, still no luck...

There is one currently in our fireplace at our new home but it won't hold as much wood and the blower on it makes an awful racket and it's just not very pretty..... chimney sweep says he'll have to take it out to clean the chimney anyway so I may leave it out. What do you think?

I've lived in my house for 6 years and my pilot light in my gas fireplace has never gone out by itselft until last week. I've have lit it 2 times during the week. I've decided to give up and just turn it of until I'm going to actually use it. Anyone have any ideas why it keeps going off by itself? Thanks.

I have a lighted waterfall picture with sound that only worked for about 2-3 months. I have sound but no light leading me to believe the bulb is burnt. The only markings on the bulb is 32RR and 6400K and then some chinese writing. It has a 4-pin configuration. How do I measure the diameter ( inside, outside...)? Where do I find a replacement bulb? I have searched the net, called electrical stores in this area, tried about every novelty store in town... Do I measure in centimeters or inches? Dang bulb is driving me nuts! It was a christmas present for my daughter from a relative.
