We have about 30+ of these tools, A fast charge will shorten the battery life, if used often. We have 2 batteries for each tool (even though they all interchange), run one dead, which takes about one day, then fresh battery, while oter goes on 12-18 hour slow charge. We get about 2 to 3 years from a battery, sometimes, wearing out the tool, before the battery (dewalt)

The more you fast-charge things, the more you "age" the appliance battery. It's better to let the thing die right down, and do a full charge. It should say that in the instruction manual. In an emergency, yeah, but I wouldn't make a habit of it. The batteries die soon enough as it is, and they cost too much to replace, say, in a cordless drill, so you're better off to just buy a whole new one after that happens. Built-in obsolescence keeps the economy going, so it seems...

no, but remember that the instructions say to let the batteries die at least once a week and do a full regular charge no a "quickie charge".......i have 12 dewalt battery tools.......the batteries last about 2 yrs.....cost about $90.00 each!...

I charged mine 20 min quick charge and it lasted 5 yr.I let it go completely dead every once in a while and charged it over night
