2000 sq ft, I would recommend an 8kw heat strip IF the circuit feeding the unit is capable of 50 amps, it really depends on the circuit feeding power to the unit, watts divided by volts = amps, 1 KW is 1000 watts

Are speaking about electric back-up for a Heat pump?
If so, they are available from 5kw and up.
