i have a combi boiler VCW T3W. the pressure keeps going down to 0.5 (and lower). the hot water doesnt work but the radiator works fine. i opened the boiler and found a leak inside. i dont know the name of the part. there are two small pipes going into it and it is made of black plastic and seems hexagonal in shape. can anyone help me. what is the problem and can i fix it. PS there doesnt seem to be any other leaks including the vent outside.

If you've rulled out any leaks elsewhere in the system (check all the rads, valves and bleed valves), then most likely to be boiler. But if you don't know what the part is, I suggest you leave it to an expert. If you're not competant or qualified for boiler repair, you could be putting yourself and others in danger. Get a pro out.

don't interfere with your boiler if your not a qualified corgi engineer, if you blow your house up the insurance will not pay out. Join British gas boiler insurance cover they will fix the problem. Your premium will just be a little bit higher.

I AGREE WITH MRTHINK, IF YOU AREN'T A TRAINED BOILER TECH, DON'T MESS WITH IT, CALL A SPECIALIST. AS FOR THE PART YOU DESCRIBED, IT SOUNDS LIKE A LOW-LEVEL CUT-OFF SWITCH. THIS DEVICE DOESN'T ALLOW THE BOILER TO FIRE UNLESS THERE IS ENOUGH WATER IN THE TANK. THIS IS A SAFETY DEVICE, AND SHOULD ONLY BE MESSED WITH BY A QUALIFIED REPAIRMAN.

Please call a qualified tech.
You do not want to play around with the internals of any pressure vessel unless you understand what you are doing.
