Hi there!

This may be a strange question, but I left a hot pink post it note on my desk and when I removed the note it left a stain! The furniture was very expensive and I can't seem to find a way to lift the stain. I've tried Old English and other cleaners but nothing has worked. I wrote to 3M and complained about it, but have yet to receive an answer. Does anyone here know of something I can use that won't damage the wood further or a good resource to go to?

Serious, thoughtful answers only please.

Thanks!

My wife put tape on the windows of our home because of an approaching hurricane. The storm is gone but its hell removing the tape. Its the clear kind that you would use to tape closed a box before you mail it. Any advice?

I have a Kenmore electric stove that was previously hard-wired into a house. I want to wire it for use at home. First, do electric stoves all require 3 prong outlets? How would I do this or find out about this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

We just got a dryer and we need to get clamps for the vent hose. The dryer is located in a utility room off of the house. The temperature is dropping and it is cold back there. We were wondering if the vent hose does nothing more then flow the hot air outside, and if not can we just take it off and use it as a "heater"?

I just moved into 4 year old home. I found that 1 electrical outlet in living room does not work. All others in house do. What causes this? should I be concerned? The house is a rental property.

I have a lennox whisper heat gas furnace (about 20 years old). I sometimes have to trip a reset switch on the flame throw out sensor ( Believe that is what it was called) to have the burners ignite and for it to start heating again. I replaced the sensor and had the chimney inspected for obstructions. The inspector found none and said the furnace had a sufficent draw. What else could be causing the furnace to stop heating?

We have a cedar wall in our condo and will soon be painting our walls. We have chosen to leave the cedar as is so we will not be removing the cedar or painting it. What can we do to freshen it up?

Our home is located in the Pacific Northwest. My current furnace is over 16 years old. I am very interested in other people's experience with newer furnaces.

I have a spotlight in my kitchen with a halogen bulb int he socket. After about an hour or two, the light literally "clicks" off... and remains off for about 20-30 minutes, when it will suddenly click itself back on again. I believe there is something with the wiring, but is there a mechanism that does this automatically if the bulb gets too hot?

There was still some oil on the stick.
Needs a new battery and had to jump it to start it the last few times.

I would like to insulate but we are on a tight budget. I really do not want to mess up the siding or the walls inside too much. I heat with wood and gas and electricity. depending on costs. I replaced most of the windows with new vinyl insulated windows. I really want to cut heating costs even more. Any suggestions?

During the walk-thru of a potential new home, we turned on the faucets and the well water smelled terrible!!!! Like rotten eggs. Nobody has lived in the house for a few months. Is something wrong with the well, or will the smell go away after the water starts getting used routinely again?

I have a double car garage with a metal ,uninsulated ,roll up 4 panel door. It is extremely noisy ,mostly vibrating type noises. The roller wheels are steel with a thin plastic "tires". Are soft wheels available ? Do you think insulating the panels would help. The garage door opener and and long lifting screw seem to be reasonablty quiet. Thanks for your intrerest.

On our central A/C, the inside equipment is all coming on and working fine, but the compressor outside is not coming on. Electricity is getting to it (ask my dh how he knows lol). It's still in the mid to high 80's here today, so is there anything we can try ourselves? Yes, the thermostat is set correctly. The electricity blinked off this morning and right back on. Could that have killed the compressor? It never has before.....
