Hi there!
This may be a strange question, but I left a hot pink post it note on my desk and when I removed the note it left a stain! The furniture was very expensive and I can't seem to find a way to lift the stain. I've tried Old English and other cleaners but nothing has worked. I wrote to 3M and complained about it, but have yet to receive an answer. Does anyone here know of something I can use that won't damage the wood further or a good resource to go to?
Serious, thoughtful answers only please.
Thanks!

I just wanted to add some details. There is absolutely no glue or residue on the wood- the dye from the post it actually stained the wood. It kind of looks like I took a pink highlighter or marker and drew in a perfect square. You can't feel any of the glue or anything on the wood, it's perfectly smooth, as if it had been there when I bought the desk... so I don't think any goo begone or anything like that would help.
Anyway, I had left the note on for about a week.
Thanks!

The only thing I can think of to use is Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. You should do a test first though, in an inconspicuous place on the piece of furniture. If it lightens your wood, use Cabinet Makers Secret to touch that up. It'll be fine. And thanks for the head's up about the post it note decoloring... how long did you leave the post it note on your desk??????????

Go to your hardware store and tell them what has happened. I believe that you can use the finest, fine grain steel wool and gently ever so gently go over the spot, then once it has lifted you can then use your old English.
Or try a really soft cloth, cheese cloth or even a chammy, and just rub the area with some oil until its evens out the same color as the wood.

I'm a bit confused is it pink dye or just the sticky? Because if it's the sticky try a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol if it's the dye then I'm not sure try to call the makers of the furniture and see what treament they recommend. Good Luck

Have you tried that stuff called goop be gone? I hear it works really well with removing these types of stains. You can get it at most stores.

Maybe you could sand it all down real good and then re-finish it. Or stick post it nots all over it, so you wont even notice the original

The correct answer is alcohol-- Isopropyl alcohol or even Purell.
