The belt is either loose or it is so warn that it needs to be replaced. If you call a repair man it should cost no more than 80.00 to fix or you can fix it you self by taking the back off the machine and adjucting the pully

It could be that the clothes in the washing machine is not "distributed" evenly. When the machine spins, it affects its peformance and so your clothes are still wet. You can try to "loosen the clothes in the machine. Move it evenly (weight) in the machine, close the tab and try again.

Try a different spin cycle after you wash. Like a full spin.
Also the problem could be a) underfilling or b) overfilling.
I have the exact same problem with my newish Servis machine.
I cannot get some things dry at all so I put them on the line to drip dry!
Most loads do well with a full load and full spin cycle.

One of 2 problems. the belt is broken, or the motor is bad. Pull the back panel and take a look at the belt, If its on, Cut the machine on while looking at it from the back panel

Sounds like the belt that agitates the drum has broken or come off. It is a fairly simple repair, but the cost of a repairman's time is what will cost the most.

sometimes is the motor but most of the times is an electronic board (micro switches).
that stops to work ant does not order the motor to take the high speed at the end of the washing circle.it will need service.or it can be a button you switch of the fast spin for some type of clothes.

I had this go wrong with my washer. My husband went to the whirlpool site (something like whirlpool.com try) anyway he said it is the rubber coupler. It was a $16 part that you can order at any appliance store. The site will even tell you how to fix it! Look for black 'dust' under washer, this is a sign that the coupler is dead.

Could be your timer switch....good reason to keep your unit unplugged...they can be easily damaged by transient voltages or spikes.
Watch the operation very closely all the way through and see exactly what it does and doesn't do.
If it gets to spin cycle and you hear the motor but no spin..it could be the belt.

If it agitates, it may NOT be the belt. Possibly the transmission. If this washer is near the 10 year mark, don't fix it.....replace it.
