There was still some oil on the stick.
Needs a new battery and had to jump it to start it the last few times.

alamoblue...did all that and it won't start. Checked filters too.

Has some oil on the stick? Exactly how much? I'm hoping either to the full mark, or within the safety range (that cross hatch).... a little on the stick (under the cross hatch) will damage the engine (as they hold barely 2 quarts of oil)

Now if it still runs, just needs a jumpstart...., it sounds as though the charging system isn't working.... (loose or broken wire to blown stator under the flywheel.)

Only saying this because we've all done stuff like this at sometime. Make sure you've turned the blades off before trying to restart. Check the wires from the battery. They have a tendency to corrode and break... especially after we've attached jumper cables to them for the hundredth time. Check the blades to see if they are warped, or were place upside down. Got gas?

If it just killed while mowing there are two reasons.
Bad gas or dirt clogging the fuel line
Overheated-not enough oil or sludgy oil

cheap small engines get too hot too fast
let it cool
it ll start again later
but get it tuned up and replace oil when supposed too
the better tuned the better it will run
