I have been experimenting with growing seeds at home.
I have some in seed compost in a propogator and one seed I put inside a folded peice of kitchen roll within a glass.
I have kept both methods moist, yet the kitchen roll method seems to have worked more effectively.
Now I have a seed with a 10mm long shoot coming from it.
Can I just put this in soil now?
Or woudl a nutrient jelly work better?
Or do I leave it a bit longer?

About 5 years ago, I planted some bananas in my yard. I love them but they are taking over. I suspect that choppuing them down will not get rid of them. How can I get rid of them?

I just recently recieved as a gift a wandering jew plant. When I got it, it was in bad shape, seriously overwatered. I think it was purchased at a grocery store, and you know how they just water everything every day whether it needs it or not. I've had it for three weeks now, and I water it about once a week, when the soil is dry. It's in a hanging pot by a window. I fed it once with some miracle grow, and that seemed to make a change for the better (it no longer looks near death). I know it's getting plenty of sunlight because it has perked up considerably and started to grow and stretch it's stems out. The one problem is that the leaves on the underside of the stems are rotting near the base of the plant. I'm not sure how to stop it. Will it just take a while for the plant to recover from it's foul treatment, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help you can give me.

My Dad has just bought a field at the back of his house which he wants to landscape, plant trees, build a pond, create a fenced area for sheep, and generally make a nice haven for local wildlife. Does anyone know any books I can buy that will be a good guide?

I planted these bulbs in October 2006. After a recent brief warm spell (60 degrees) the bulbs have sprouted. I am concerned that the bulbs will not sprout and consequently bloom when I expect them to bloom in April 2007. Please advise.
