ive watered my plants with warm water for years. yes its the right thing to do and you wouldnt want a cold bath would you?

Room temperature is better. Tap water can actually be harmful to plants because of all the chemicals and minerals in water (or at least city water). It is best to let the water sit out for awhile. What I like to do is fill up old wine bottles and line them up along my counter top, then when my plants need a water, I've got water at the perfect temperature for them and the wine bottles aren't an eyesore

That stands to reason as I would think cold water, especially in cold months, would shock the roots. My ex sister-in-law used to say "lukewarm water to a plant is like what a warm breakfast is to humans".

I didn't no it for a fact just do it because it made sense not to shock their system I do it with fresh flowers too I learned my lesson about cold water by killing gold fish accidentally
