I'm looking to install aluminum siding but hear it's difficult to keep it level all around the house--start to finish.

How would I do this? Thanks!

We want to put new skirting boards in, but there are unsightly pipes under the rads, which run along the top of the existing narrow skirting, can you buy moulding or special skirting that will cover the pipes?
Thanking you in advance

I have this metal handle bar in front of my house that when I touch, I ALWAYS get a static shock. Because of the low humidity and my coat, this seems to always happen.

What can I do to the metal handle bar to get rid of the shock? Any good suggestions?

Good Morning,

Lately looking at "Fein Multi Purpose Tool" System.

I know WHERE to purchase, so please save those words.

I also know a general price range, but certainly E bay starts them low.

The Q more relates to anyone owning such, or their experiences with such.

One of the features is what I'm curious about (Oscillating), as it relates to Tile and Grout cutting. Currently a Diag. Grinder with a Diamond blade creates more dust than I want.

Thanks to all, Happy HollyDaze

As I am on a budget I will have to fit this myself (and maybe just get a CORGI registered plumber to fit the gas pipe and commission it) which model is best for simplicity of function, reliability and ease of fitting

It's ancient, discontinued and about ready to fall off the door. I haven't been able to find a replacement that fits. Everything I've found so far is off by fractions of an inch.

I need one 11x15 inches. That's the size of the flap itself, the molding is another inch all around.

The whole doggie door can't be replaced because the door it's in is also ancient and discontinued. I'm afraid that cutting into it will make it fall apart. I'd have to have a custom people door installed, then cut the doggie door, and that's just too expensive right now.

I need clever ways to rig a flap that keeps out the weather, but allows the dog (Lab mix. 65 pounds) access.

I live in Northern California, so no snow. The door leads out into a covered patio. I'm mainly concerned with having a gaping hole in my door, (mid winter) and letting in insects and other undesirables.

Any ideas would be great, thank you.

Have an Astracast tap, which has flexible tail pipes fitted underneath, and has a thin bolt with a nut screwed on to it hold the tap onto the worktop. The nut has become loose and I can't work out how to tighten it up as the flexible hoses are in the way. Is there a type of socket you can buy which will allows you to tighten the bolt without removing the flexible pipes

The bathroom fan vents through the loft and out of the eves of the house. The tubing is 10m long and water condenses in it and drops back out the fan (which can't be a good thing!) I think I need to install a water trap close to the fan -does a commercial product exist? Are there any better ideas?

Our Kohler sink needs a bigger hole than cut in the tile due to the sink clips. (The hole was cut assuming only caulking would be needed.) We're looking to see if there are special sink clips that also work as "expanders", if we should cut the tile somehow (yikes!), if we should just try to find another sink with (somehow) the same dimensions as the hole, or if there's any other solution.

Countertop is 1.5" plywood (two layers) and ceramic tile set in mastic (no Wonderboard etc.)

Thank you!

Hey. I am a 13 year old girl. My walls have paneling and my floor is wood. I wanted to add some color to my bedroom, besides the bed. What is some DIY (do it yourself) ideas for a blue curatain? It it really long. I could get another color curtain but I like this one...but wanted something cute to add to it. It needs to be easy and like a few hour job at most. I can buy supplies...and my mom and I know how to sew...if you have any ideas of something to add to it. I also have a hot glue gun if that helps any. Please describe it and do it step by step, and a picture would help (url).

Thanks in advance!

We have a fireplace that has a gas line running from the wall. We don't have a pilot light but can smell the gas when we turn the knob connected to an adjacent wall. There are real logs in the fireplace and it is obvious that matches light the logs but we need some information as to how to do this safely. Please help! Thanks in advance.
