I have never seen one, but I suspect your answer comes from # 1 and # 2. Seems the obvious notion.
I want very much to assume however that they are very specific, like a Boss Doll, a Postman Doll, perhaps a Policeman Doll? Certainly an IRS Agent Doll; etc. NOT a Baby doll.
It's a take off on Voo Doo Dolls I imagine... :)

it is a stress reliever. so you don't go and take it out on other people. it is something to take aggression out on without hurting anyone. you can squeeze it or throw it on the desk, floor, if you throw it at the wall, it might knock something over on the way to the floor.so people have them just in case
