Where can I buy zippo gas in new york?

If it is butane, most gas stations sell it. If it is lighter fluid, gas stations may have it, bu ti get mine from The Tinder Box, or any smoke shop at a mall etc.

You can use any bar-b-que starting fluid.
You could buy a small container and have enough zippo refills to last you till you get lung cancer.
Get a life and stop smoking.

The guy is right. BBQ lighter fluid works. I tried it some minutes ago and was so excited I thought I'd share it with someone.
