They're new neighbours. I've introduced myself but they never talk and they run away when we are outside. (LOL).

They're building like a granny flat under their house or something without building permits. If it is a flat it will impact on my amenity by reason of the increased density, noise and parking requirements.

Should I dob them in to the authorities and let them handle it - putting my name on the public record? What would you do?

I am racking ,my brain over the corridoor lighting. I have placed the power cable as usual from one pendent to the other and took the switch to the pendent and wired as normal.

My problem:-

The light upstairs i have wired with a two way switch (so that it can be turned on or off from either upstairs or downstairs)

Now I want the downstairs light to operate on the same switch as the upstairs light. (so they both turn on and off at same time)

Whats the easiest way to do this?.

channeling and mess is not a problem as it will be re=plastered.

Thanks for viewing hope you can help me asap

How do you check to see if there is a clog, blockage in a vent in your bathroom. Where do I check to see if there is a vent for my shower. I looked on the roof and saw the pipe that comes out of the bathroom, but what do I do now to check it.

I want to install an IKEA halogen light fixture in my kitchen. It has black, white and striped green wires. My ceiling mounting has 2 paired black, 2 paired white,1 red and copper wires.I forgot to note how the old fixture was wired:(.

I tried black-on-black & white-on-white but the halogen fixture does not light up.Red-on-black & white-on-white,the light is always ON.

I tried red-on-black, white-on-white and black-on-striped green. The halogen light switches on and off however when i switch on another kitchen light the circuit break trips, which does not happen before.

The fixtures' switch that I am replacing have a red and black wire attached to it.

Help!

Tried plunging but it only helps for awhile. This problem seems to come and go no matter what "number" has been performed. Any suggestions?

this is the way i done it, i bought a meter length of 3.5mm steel cable which has eyelets at either side, i anchor bolted the cable to the wall using 95mm long and 14mm thick anchor bolts, the ones with the metal sleve as opose to the plastic, my tv has two hooks on the back as the previous owner had his suspended using the same size of cable through his ceiling joists, when i bolted the cable on the wall i physicaly climbed up my wall holding on to the cable and tryed to pull it out using my feet against the wall as leverage, and it didnt budge, obviously the tv wont put that much strain on it as the waight will be pulling downwards, and not outwards as i was doing, so its hanging like a picture in theory, do you think it will be ok, thanks

I'm looking to varnish a painted pvc pipe. I'm not sure if I should even use varnish, I just need to make it scratch and mark resistant.

Thanks in advance!

I inherited a 34,000 sq. ft. lot and I really want to build a house on it. Nothing too fancy. Maybe a 1,500 sq. foot 2 bedroom 2 bathroom house, single level. I am completely ignorant to this sort of thing and don't want to get ripped off.
Does anyone have any idea about how to even start this project?

I have the spot picked out and the template ready. But I have a question about creating the cut through the panel section of the door.

Please see picture at link: http://img2.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/139c0eabb2.jpg

Should I first fill in the area on the panel section with some putty type material so that when I make the cut and install the pet door it will still be sealed?

I just don't want to have a open gap at the side and top of the pet door.

Any suggestions?

This is my opinion. We can clean up the water, build a water system to have clean water, have no coal plants, recycle gold, bricks, hays, paper, bottles, cans, boxes, shoes, steel, and plastic containers too. We can finally build factories to recycle these items. What do you think?
