There isn't too much to one actually. Typically there are two screws just under the door where the washer meets the counter. Then you'd have a drain hose, water hose and electric.
1. be sure you turn off the power to the dishwasher before you begin!! 2. Turn off the water.
Just be sure to measure to make sure your new one will fit.

You can do it.
First turn off the electric to the dishwasher at the circuit panel
Kneel down, and look up at the underside of the countertop... there should be 2 clips.. The screws thru these clips up into the underside of the countertop hold the front of th unit in place. Remove the screws.
There is a kickplate at the bottom of the unit... 2 to 4 screws remove these, so you can pull the kick plate(s) out.
There may or may not be, an electrical connection at the front of the unit, if there is, undo the wires.
Under the sink cabinet, the dishwasher drain hose runs thru the cabinet wall, to either the drain pipe, or to the side of the garbage disposal. This will have to be removed. It will pull thru the cabinet wall when you pull the dishwasher forward.
Slide the dishwasher unit forward... it helps to slip a small matt under the legs to keep from scratching the floor
If the electrical connection was not at the front of the unit, it will be at the rear. Sometimes its an actual plug and outlet, but most often, it is wires joined together with wire nuts in a small box.
Thats all there is to it
Tips... sometimes it helps to lower the feet of the dishwasher to make it easier to pull out,
There WILL be a little water in the unit, and it may spill, so keep some rags, or mop handy.
The new unit goes back in place just like the old one came out. =)
Have Fun

It's not that hard. Below are basic steps to remove a dishwasher. I obviously cannot see yours, so use common sense if there are any extenuating circumstances re: your particular dishwasher.
Remove all dishes, and maybe even the racks from inside the dishwasher.
Unplug it.
Turn the water supply off (typically under the sink). This is often your sink supply as well, so prepare to not have any hot water for a bit.
Unhook the source line, waste line and air gap.
Unscrew the support brackets (what secures the dishwasher to the countertop). Look underneath the countertop, just in front / above the dishwasher. Should just be some screws.
Carefully pull / roll the dishwasher out.
There it is.

I just did it...it's not that tough. There's two screws at the front that hold the dishwasher into your cabinet, and then there's a water line and a drain line. So you jsut disconnect those and reconnedct them to the new washer. Also, depending on the model you may need to salvage the power cord from your old dishwasher, so don't toss your old washer until you're sure you've got all the parts you need. The instructions that come with it should make it clear what you need to do.

usually the company you buy from will do it for you.....you just buy and have it delivered. If not, you can simply open the door, and at the top there are some screws....remove them and it will slide out, then turn off the water to the washer and remove the water line. Then pull it all the way out. You will have to get help to take it out, but 2-3 people will be fine....ask the seller of the new washer first before doing anything yourself!!

Your dishwasher should have a water supply and a drain hose that needs disconnecting. The drain hose can be cut 6" to 12" from the connection to the drain (it usually goes to the disposal) and a piece of dowel or a piece if broom handle shoved into the cut hose can be used to stop it from leaking. This is usually easier than trying to plug the disposal spigot. Since there is no pressure on this a couple of hose clamps can be used to keep the dowel in place. Hopefully the water supply to the dishwasher has a separate shut-off. If not you will have to cut the supply line 6" from the water source and apply a compression union with a cap on one end. Probably 3/8" tubing. The dishwasher is usually screwed to the bottom of the counter top. Open the door to the dishwasher and remove the screws. Slide the dishwasher out until you can see where it is plugged in to electricity. Dishwashers usually fit in a 24" opening so you may be able to put a 24" base cabinet if you can come close to matching the rest of your cabinets

it is very easy I just got one for my wife and changed it out in less than an hour. Most all washers are the same size (just don't get like extra tall or something) you will need a few basic tools screwdriver or cordless screw gun, a knife and a crescent wrench. of all the household appliances you have this is the easiest to swap out.

if someone did not put in a floor after your dishwasher is installed then you are ok. Then remove the 2 screws into the undersize of the counter top it should slide out. When power, hoses, and lines are removed at the sink. Be sure to lay a peice of cardboard and slide the unit on it. So not to damage your floor.
