Run your sale Thursday Thur Sat, believe it or not Thursdays are the best day to do a yard sale. Do NOT accept checks no matter what. Price high your first day and don't be afraid to haggle with people. People at a yard sale will try to get you down to your lowest price. Each day lower your prices, and whatever you have left give to charity for a tax credit.

Put an ad in the local paper. It works for me every time. Price everything, you can still negotiate. Start early, by 7:00 am. Have an apron or fanny-pack with plenty of change.

instead of taking the time to price everything, have a "pay what you think it's worth" sale...people will be more willing to buy things instead of turning something down because they think it is too pricy....good luck!
