On that amana washer the front panel comes off and then you remove the bolts below the pump and the motor/Idler assembly comes out of the machine. You can then remove the 3 torx head screws that hold the pump in place and carefully remove it. Make a note where the belt goes between the legs on the pump. Oil the idler pully and do not lose the springs. For a novice it is best to take your time and don't break the pump. Many times the pump will not want to budge. I use my favorite product . you guessed it Rustbuster!

Ordinarily there is a panel which has to be removed in order to change a belt. Look at the instruction booklet which came with the washer. There should be directions in the back on how to change the belt. Or you can call the Maytag repairman.

prob your best bet is to look for some screws to undo from the back of the machine. Undo those screws and there should be some tabs to release the front or the top of the unit to access the belt, from there you may want to vacuum all the lint out before putting the new belt in. Good luck.

It all depends on the brand, what style (front load or top load) and the age of the unit. If you have a make and model and age of machine, that would help.
