I noticed today that there is a small gap between two of the pieces that have been glued together when the board was made. I love this board and it has sentimental meaning to me. I do not want to have to stop using it but I have concerns about flour getting into this little crevace and bacteria building up. Does anyone know of a product I can use to fill this gap? It cannot be taken apart and reglued so I need another idea. Thanks to all who answer.

I'm putting something from Ikea together, for example, and it comes with a small hexagonal ratchet which burrs really easily, and they've also given it a kind of plastic extension to get more leverage. Then there's also a weird spanner for another non-standard set of connectors. These things are as big and as heavy as small screwdrivers. Most people have screwdrivers at home anyway, and these custom made tools must cost far more to replace because they're not so mass-produced. Why make it more complicated for the user?

just bought a new duel fueled range cooker, hobs are gas, ovens electric...right all the gas fittings are there, ive took the gas pipe off the old cooker, cleaned it up and it fits the new range. now in the instruction book it says fit with non setting gas sealent to the cooker, the other end is like a push on bayonet fitting. right how much is this sealent, and have i been quoted too much at £20.00 to connect it,surely looking at it you smother on this sealant on the threads, tighten up the nut, connect to the supply, rub a bit of diluted washing up liquid round the joint to check for any gas escape and job done.or am i been too full of myself here.with it been our first extravagance, the wifes a bit unsure, but ive done our others no problem, and i can see where shes coming from,so any input welcome please.

There's electrical behind the backer board, so I'm concerned. I have cut and screwed in the backer board, but I can remove it if necessary now to do things right. As it is, the backerboard (1/4") overlaps the lip/flange of the shower. I found out I am supposed to use fiberglass tape and mud for the seams, but I just want to avoid the possibility of water seepage at all. Should I put up a membrane, or is that moot since I'd have to screw holes through it to reattach the backer board?
