I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on how to make a spinning dance pole? What kind of parts would I need? I know most of the factory made ones consist of at least 6 inch base plates and 6 ball bearings but is there any parts I could buy from home depot to make a spinning pole?

I did realize that I was more then likely going to get alot of rude or/and perverted replies to this question. However Im not a substance abuser & dont want to become a stripper. I have nothing againest strippers its just not something I could do. Im a dancer, I like to learn all sorts of dance types. Ive mastered belly dancing & hip hop dancing & now I would like to learn pole dancing. As for those who feel the need to leave rude comments & look down and frown on me I just disregard it. For those who disagree with me & can express it in a civilized manner then I take into consideration what you have to say. For those of you who answered & were not flat out rude, thank you I appreciate it very much. The reason I asked the question is because I do not have the money to buy the ever expensive spinning poles they sell on websites like lil'mynx, platinum stages, and x-pole. I have a welder friend who agreed to make my pole but I wanted to know what types of parts/pieces I will need.

Come on Y'all. This could be a single mother of three with no substance abuse habits; just a misguided sense of a direction that might be better.

Krista; no real offense; but hopefully you kinda realize the type of answers a question like this will get you.

I wouldn't try it .. honestly there is people in the phone book who could come out and do it... but honestly one small mistake and you can land yourself in a hospital.
I own and built my own pole.. and it's wonderful and works just like the 359.00 ones... only it cost me 40.00 bucks to make ... but I wouldn't make your own spinning pole it would be dangerous my friend has a spinning pole from the internet and its really hard to work with..but spinning poles are worth the extra money buying them from internet (websites that design them) cause you dont want to be in a hospital and home depot didn't help me at all with my non spinning pole get a guy friend that knows about beams and galv steel plumbing pipe:P

good luck!

good luck

No idea. Here's what I know though: If you ask that question to any guy working at Home Depot, you'll end up with a bunch of them constantly trying to hit on you.

Btw, IMO, chairs and handcuffs are sexier XD

Hi, in the floor use Rawlbolts, the type that expand in the flooring, in the ceiling, use "butterfly bolts" they should do the trick, Well done for the job you have done, looks very professional, but you need more secure fixings to dance to it!
