flasher unit?

i have a dummy camera on the outside of my house.where can i get a flasher unit with a light so it looks like a real one

what you need is a flashing LED, drill a suitable hole seal the diode in with silicone sealant, power it with a battery or a small bell transformer.

Good idea to have a dummy camera.

But, it will not look like a real one if you fit a flashing light.

That's like radar screens on television that "bleep" every sweep - it only happens in films.
If a burglar saw one he would probably think "oh goody, a fake camera"

Have a look at real external security cameras - none of them have a flashing light.
It would look more realistic if you connected a cable and fed it into a short hole in the wall. Many dummy cameras don't have that significant feature.

As real cameras are now so cheap, why not fit one? They feed into you television or VCR via a scart lead.
In fact it's a good use for your old VCR after the digital switchover. You can get gadgets which will start it recording as soon as a PIR detects an intruder, so an E180 tape should be good for all night. .

Check out stores that sell strobe lights. Find one with a long time delay between flashes and there you go. You're all set.
