During hard rains, water drips from a 45 elbow on my furnace vent line (in our basement). The pipe is 4" galvanized & makes a double 45 in the basement before going up through 2 floors and out the roof. I could obviously seal the piping, but then the water would run back into the furnace. As far as I can tell, the stub-up on the roof has no rain collar, gooseneck, or other rain-prevention device. Is this normal? I'd like to fix the problem, but don't want to damage my furnace, restrict the vent, or violate any codes. Thanks.

I want the light to get through to the windows. I want it to be safe for kids and adults to walk on, and light enough for someone to push up from underneath if they need to escape.

Taking out the two screws does not release the handle. I am not sure how the handle is secured to the shaft or how to tighten the shaft.

I do not have fruit or any other food sitting out on the counters. There aren't many of them just a few and they're driving me nuts. My kitchen is clean. Dirty dishes go in the dishwasher and food scrapes go down a garbage disposal

I've already tried a wallpaper steamer, sticky stuff remover and nail varnish remover - the only thing that works is a scouring pad and a lot of scrubbing - I'll be here until next Christmas!

My shower drips from the shower heads. It turns on with a single valve. I reasearched this on the net and found that it is a problem with the shower canister needing to be replaced. The instructions seemed simple enough, yet I'm a bit skeptical of doing it myself. Has any one done this and if so, could I do it myself with written instructions?

I bought one of those 4x8 trailer kits from northerntool. The build and wiring went well. I tested the wiring of the trailer when it was just the frame and no wooden sides. Everything worked and was fine. A few days later after I added the wooden sides and floor, the lights on the trailer were not right. If you turn on one of the blinkers, all the lights on the trailer flash as if the hazard lights were on. Also, when you have the tow vehicle lights on, all the brake lights come on the trailer, but when you step on the brakes, all the trailer lights go off. It did rain yesterday before the floor was installed so the wires may have gotten a little wet. I am going to take apart the connections and clean the wires with sandpaper and tinners fluid. Does any have any other suggestions or heard of anything like this?

He has a 2 story house and he wants to punch a hole in the wall upstairs to have a sliding board come down into his living room for his grandkids to slide on. What should I say to grandpa? If he puts it in there I want to slide too. I guess on the postive side he would not have to worry about them falling down the stairs.
