Wipe them down with vinegar and the salt will go away and it will help prevent salt stains in the future.

Take this from a canadian having to deal with road salt woes all winter long.

If plain water doesn't rinse it off, you can't get rid of the stain. Because if it's not dried salt, then the salt has bleached the leather and the damage is permanent.

hi there, this might sound wacky lol but try nail polish remover it works on those nasty scuffs marks on shoes, so it might work on road salt stains

Peel a potato and rub it on the effected areas and then wash with fresh water. I used to live up north and that worker all the time.
