Some general guidelines are:
The slope of the ramp cannot exceed 1" or rise for every 12" of run. Maximum length without a landing should be no more than 12'
It should be at least 32" wide...preferably 36"
Landings should be 5'x5' if possible but no smaller than the width of the ramp.
Handrails on both sides no higher than 34" to the center of the railing from the ramp floor and they need to be continuous.
You can buy premade metal ones....just do a google search and you'll find tons of companies that make them or you can build one out of pressure treated wood...it's like building a deck the same general principles apply

I don't know of any plans, but I'll tell you what Granddad did when Grandma had her leg amputation. He took a sheet of 8' x 1" plywood and cut it to the width of the steps. Then he took 2 8' 1x4's to make sides for it, and another couple of 1x4's he cut the same length as the width of the ramp, and secured them to the bottom every 2 feet for support. He then used the skil saw at an angle to angle the ends to meet the ground and porch. Grandma used that ramp for 4 years, and we still have it today. She's been gone 3 years now though. Good luck with building your ramp.

I can tell the fed. code on how to build a ramp. The code is for every inch of rise you have to go out a foot.If you have a deck or porch that is 36in.of the ground that by a,d.a.you have to go out 36 feet.It has to be at least 48 in wide and at the turns has to be 60 in wide so a wheelchair can make a turn.

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/OGmpl
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

easy. get a flat plywood and some sloped wood to emulate the ramp slope but make sure that it peaks out evenly to the top of the steps.

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.
